I'm a CelebrityGet me out of here!
NBC announced today that Damien Fahey and Myleene Klass will serve as co-hosts for its new, groundbreaking, live summer television event "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!" that kicks off on Monday, June 1 with a two-hour special from 8-10 p.m. (ET).
Fahey is known to audiences as the host of MTV's "Total Request Live ("TRL") where many of today's A-list celebrities and musicians personally requested him for interviews. A talented and dedicated broadcaster, Fahey has hosted numerous radio and television shows including "Live! With Regis & Kelly," where he has been called upon as a recurring host. Recruited by MTV for its "Beach House" segments, he was quickly promoted to "TRL" host in 2002, where he held the distinction of being the only veejay to simultaneously host and write for the show.
Myleene Klass is one of the biggest stars in the United Kingdom and was a participant herself in the 2006 version of "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!" that propelled her to a successful career where she was "Queen of the Jungle" and the top searched-for celebrity in the world by the United Kingdom Internet users. The multi-talented Klass is a television host, entertainer and musician. In 2001, she was chosen from thousands of singing hopefuls to become one of five members of the reality pop band Hear'Say, winners of the singing competition show "Popstars," that went on to sell two million CDs. A talented pianist, she signed a solo recording deal and reached #1 in the classical charts. Klass hosts "Weekend Breakfast" on Classic FM and writes monthly features in Classic FM Magazine, titled "Myleene's Hot Property and Prima Baby." Additionally, she also hosts her own monthly movie review show on CNN International, where she interviews some of today's hottest stars. In 2008, she released her first book, "My Bump and Me," which went straight to the Top-10 bestseller charts.
The celebrities paticipating will be, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Janice Dickinson, John Salley, Lou Diamond Phillips, Sanjaya Malakar, Patti Blagojevich, Stephen Baldwin, Torrie Wilson, and Frangela (Frances Callier and Angela V. Shelton).
"I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here" should more aptly be named 'I'm Infamous, I'd do anything for Money and Attention." Patti Blagojevich and already been nick named BlagoBitch. Stephen Baldwin may hold a redcord for the number of reality shows he has participated it. Lou Diamond Phillips is so far over the hill, the hill has eroded to a parking lot. We knew Sanjaya Malakar would finally earn money in show business and it wouldn't be singing. We need not even mention Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt because they are so unmentionable.
Based on the hit UK series, "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!" is the ultimate "Swiss Family Robinson" as the celebrities will be dropped into the heart of the Costa Rican jungle to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills. America is the puppet master, controlling their favorite celebrities by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. In each episode, friendships will be tested, hilarity is expected and viewers will decide which celebrities stay or go. The last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning a substantial cash prize for their favorite charity.
In a unique scheduling move, following the two-hour premiere on June 1, "I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!" will air over four weeks in June from 8-9 p.m. (ET). For three weeks, the show will air Mondays through Thursdays.
